About Me

This is my 10th year at Centerville.  I very excited to start the year!  Two of those years, I served as team leader.  Prior to Centerville, I taught second grade at Sabillasville Elementary.

I have a B.S. in Early Childhood Eduction from Towson University and a M.S. in Instruction & Curriculum with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Hood College.

Over the years, I have been involved in several professional development sessions and curriculum workshops.  They have increased my teaching knowledge and have allowed me to continue to be effective in the classroom.  I have already planned several fun and engaging lessons for your child over the summer and cannot wait to implement them!

Although I am from South Bend, Indiana (go Irish!), I grew up mostly in Frederick County and am a Frederick High School graduate.  I spend my personal time with my husband and son, who will be 29 months old in August.  I have one lively dog named Maggie and a sun conure names Harley.

The best way to reach me is either via e-mail at marla.roth@fcps.org, a note sent in your child's folder or a phone call at (240) 566-0142 (please note that my class phone does not ring during school hours, if there is a change in the way your child goes home or an emergency, please call the main office at 240-566-0100).  If you have any changes to your child's dismissal, please do not send me an e-mail.  Send in a note with your child or call the front office.  Please allow me two school days to get back to you.
