Rescheduled Valentine's Day Party

Valentine's Day Party......take 2

Our rescheduled party time is for Friday, February 21st from 2-3 p.m.  

The children are really excited!  Pictures of the party are to come.

Class Donations

Our class is in need of some supplies. Anything sent in is greatly appreciated.

 
Items our class is in need of:

-white bags with handles (ones that are as big or a little bigger than a brown lunch bag), this will be for our Valentine's bags
-table wipes (ex: clorox wipes, etc.)
-tissues
-gallon-size bags

1st Annual Frederick County Social Studies Fair March 21-22, 2014

The 1st Annual Frederick County Social Studies Fair will be on March 21- 22, 2014.  This will be held at Walkersville Elementary School.  If you would like to submit a project, you must register by March 14 at noon.  The fair is also open to the public for viewing.  Information about this can be found on http://education.fcps.org/socstudieselem/socstudiesfair.

Valentine's Day Party

Our Valentine's Day party is scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2014.  It will be held in our classroom from 12:45-1:45 p.m.  Please allow extra time to  check in for security purposes.  

Children are allowed to give Valentine's cards to other students.  If your child would like to give out cards, they must give a card out to each student in the class.  A letter will be going home soon with information about this.

Family Flags and Winter Break

Wow!  I can tell that all of the children worked really hard on creating and practicing their family flag presentations.  They look wonderful and the children learned so much more about one another.

Friday, December 20th is a 2 hour early dismissal.  The children still have library scheduled for Friday.

Family Flag

Family flags have been sent home with each student in Kindergarten.  Attached are directions on how to complete this activity.  All flags are due Monday, December 9, 2013.  We will begin to present them that day and will be displaying them outside of our classroom so that other classes can see your child's hard work.

 

The project will be evaluated based on the criteria listed below.  While you are welcome to guide and assist your child, most of the work should be produced by the student. 

 

Visual Aid

Neat and organized visual aid

Pictures are labeled

 

Oral Presentation

Speaks loud and clear (good voice projection)

Makes eye contact with the audience

Shows evidence of having practiced the speech at home

Students can explain/describe the visual aid
